Junior HR Business Partner (12 months FTC)

Job Description
Do you have proven HR Advisor experience?  Have you worked closely with managers to advise and seek resolution for HR related activities?  We have a great opportunity for a Junior HR Business Partner to join the NGUK HR team on a 12 month fixed term contract.  This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a Global Company which is building capability in the UK. 
You will work closely with the Senior HR Business Partner to support the allocated sectors and programmes with all HR related activities as well as working in close liaison with the UK HR Service Delivery team to ensure effective delivery of employee life cycle activities.


Your role will require a hands-on deliverer who can handle multiple priorities with consistent attention to detail and enjoys working closely with the business and as part of the broader HR team.

How you will make a difference

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support managers and team leaders with complex employee relations cases in accordance with the NGUKL policies and procedures, escalating to the Senior HR Business Partner if required. Act as an escalation point for employee relations matters referred by the HR Administrators (Service Delivery Team).
  • Represent the HR function in the business, understanding the programmes and sectors context, strategy and environment to ensure appropriate initiatives are developed and relevant guidance issued.
  • Work closely with the Senior HR Business Partner so that full operational and environmental awareness is maintained so that actions can be implemented, or escalations made where relevant.
  • In partnership with the Senior HR Business Partner develop and implement people initiatives relevant for the internal customer group.
  • Be responsible for monthly data reporting, working with the Service Delivery team to confirm the numbers and then work with the Senior HR Business Partner so that leadership briefings can be completed and all reports are aligned.
  • Support the NGUKL annual activities for merit cycle, performance alignment and talent management. Plus new corporate activities that require implementation.
  • Support the annual engagement survey process, working within the management teams and employees to support result understanding. Supporting management to drive appropriate actions forward.
  • Build relationships and credibility with the workforce to foster effective working relationships with employees and other key NG service delivery teams.
  • Lead and or support project activities where allocated.
  • Partnership with the Service Delivery team to ensure that administration for contracts, on-boarding, employee changes are processed effectively, including providing advance notification to the team to support effective turnaround.
  • Visit NGUKL office locations and be present within the employee base to build relationships and raise the profile for the team.
  • Keep up to date with external trends, best practice and developments in HR to support own personal development and to embed learning in to practice.
  • Deliver internal training, covering areas such as performance management, manager training or other corporate activities.
  • Support job design and benchmarking, working with the managers to establish appropriate role levels and pay bands. Ensuring consistency and parity internally and to external market.
  • Work closely with the Recruitment team and customer group to monitor progress and service, escalating issues promptly to the Head of HR Operations.
  • Support change management activities as and when required.
Essential experience:
  • CIPD qualified and / or demonstrable relevant experience at HR Advisor level.
  • Experience of managing HR projects.
  • Strong numerical skills and experience of working with HR data. Ability to understand, represent and qualify data, to ensure accuracy and relevance for audience.
  • Effective relationship builder, ability to develop strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Desirable experience:
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to effectively prioritise.
  • Clear communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Experienced in employee relations, including complex matters.
 Additional Information:
