Infrastructure & Systems Administrator

Job Description
Do you have experience of supporting and maintaining IT Infrastructure? Our Fareham office are currently seeking an Infrastructure & Systems Administrator in a permanent capacity.
For this position you will be required to go through SC clearance

How you will make a difference

To support maintenance and evolution of existing IT infrastructure.

Essential skills include:

  • Windows Domain Services
  •  File Replication Services (FRS)
  • Distributed File System (DFS)
  • Active Directory (AD) maintenance
  • Backup Systems (e.g. Symantec Backup  Exec, Quantum Scalar i40Acronis Backup Systems)
  •  Perform Maintenance on the backup system:
    • Creating new Policies, Selection Lists and Jobs
  •  Monitoring backup jobs
  • Anti-Virus/Malware protection (e.g. Symantec End Point ProtectionMicrosoft Security Essentials)
  •  Maintenance and configuration of Physical workstations/servers and peripherals
  • Install, configure diagnose and provide updates & advice on the PCs
  • Provide assistance on the use of virtualisation systems; VMWare, ESXI Microsoft Virtual Machine (Hyper-V)
  • Creation and Deployment of VM
  • Maintain the company's structured network - changing the patch-cabling in the LAN Cabinet for new and relocated computers and phones.
  • Network management and monitoring
  • Syslog/windows event logging


In addition to the above it would be great if you had experience with:
Assist with monitoring and maintaining:
  • Group Policy’s and Group Policy Rollouts
  • Active Directory, Server 2012 , Office, Project and Windows Update Services
  • The H-Mail internal mail server (accounts and mailing lists)
  • Undertake any other reasonable task as requested
