Aviation Safety Officer

Job Description
Do you have on-aircraft technical experience and an in depth knowledge of RAF700 documentation?
We require an Aviation Safety Officer to focus on reinforcing Mission Assurance through the management and delivery of airworthiness assurance to comply with Def Stan 00-56, the Northrop Grumman (NG) Safety Management System and contractual obligations.
*For this role you will be required to hold and maintain Security Clearance*

The role will also assume responsibility for the NG Safety Management System, including responsibility for the NG Safety Management Manual, E-3D Sentry DASOR management, Airworthiness awareness, leading technical Investigations in support of both ASIMS and QORs and acting as the NG Foreign Object Damage Coordinator.


Further, the role is required to conduct audits on the condition of both the E-3D Sentry aircraft systems and associated aircraft documentation.

NG holds safety at the very core of all our services and products and airworthiness is at the core of the delivery of E-3D Sentry aircraft to the Ministry of Defence.  This role will provide the opportunity to be a pivotal member of the cross-organisational airworthiness chain which ensures our aircraft are available and safe.
Essential Criteria:
  • On-aircraft technical experience gained in a military aircraft environment.
  • In depth knowledge of RAF700 documentation and MAA aircraft document set (ADS)
  • Working knowledge of MAA governance and MAP-01 Regulatory Articles.
  • Experience of Air Safety Information Management System (ASIMS)
  • Experience of leading or participating in quality management audits.
  • Completed technical investigations and delivered engineering and process assurance recommendations.
  • Confident and articulate oral and written communicator.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to attain MOD Security Clearance (SC).
  • Management of Risk and Hazard experienced.
  • Awareness of Foreign Object Debris prevention measures and awareness.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Knowledge of DAOS/MAOS regulations.
  • Proficient operator of MS Office, esp MS Office, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Experience of ISO9001:2015.
