EMEA Compliance & Operations Manager

Job Description
Northrop Grumman is involved in a range of future game-changing defence and security programmes.We are currently seeking a Compliance & Operations Manager to join our EMEA Enterprise Services Management Team.
 
This is a permanent position and you will be required to hold and maintain security clearance.

A key member of Northrop Grumman’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Enterprise Services (ES) management team, this role manages operational shared services functions in-region including Compliance, Facilities, EHS, Travel & Expenses and Payroll functions, providing leadership and governance around compliance to legal, client and company standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for achievement and maintenance of compliance with all identified and confirmed standards, ensuring consistently high service performance, collecting and evaluating customer feedback, and co-ordinating with customers and service leads to develop continuous service quality improvement
  •  Work closely with the Enterprise Services leadership team in both EMEA / US, together with associated suppliers, to support the successful delivery of all shared services including IT Solutions, Information Security, Privacy, Service Centre Operations, Security, Facilities Management and Real Estate
  • Manage and develop the operational shared service team, growing talented individuals into a high-performing function
  • Lead the annual investment planning activity for EMEA Enterprise Services from feasibility through to execution, including non-recurring portfolio activities and ongoing operational support cost post-implementation
  • Facilitate co-ordination between the US teams, the local country Business Development team and the Programme Lead to ensure the portfolio of projects and existing Enterprise Services meet internal compliance requirements, partnering with key stakeholders to monitor adherence to standards and regulations
  • Provide regular input and status updates to the NG Europe Enterprise Services Governance Board
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with operating sectors and subsidiaries in-region
  • Liaise with Enterprise Services and sector functions on the delivery of Enterprise Services, identifying / facilitating resolution of ES operational risks and issues, recommending corrective actions, dispositions and modifications
  • Review and improve auditing processes to prevent compliance issues and resolve any arising in a timely manner
  •  Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with managers to address concerns regarding compliance matters and develop training content as required to support ongoing conformity
  • Verify service line processes and procedures are documented and maintained, including contributing to Company policies & procedures
  • Deputise for the EMEA Director, Enterprise Service & Corporate Operations as required
  • Provide advice to business leaders on potential future ventures to identify possible compliance risks
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within and outside the company, as well as evolving best practice in compliance control

General Operational duties
  • Attend EMEA Shared Services department meetings as required
  • Remain compliant with all applicable ES Processes and procedures
  • Support the EMEA Shared Services Director in developing and growing a professional and engaged team

General Line Management duties

  • Understand and apply all policies, processes and procedures around people management, compliance and governance

 

Person Specification 

Essential Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant experience in quality and compliance management
  • IOSH and NEBOSH certification
  • Senior management experience in a compliance delivery role across multiple disciplines
  • Track record of budget and investment management in a complex global business, including estimating, budgeting, cost flow analysis, and rated-model development
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering Shared Services projects with virtual, matrixed, multi-national teams in a complex, global environment, working in highly-visible leadership positions, providing facilitation, advice and direction support
  • Evidenced experience of multi-functional service delivery, with globally-dispersed stakeholders
 
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
  •  Aerospace & Defence sector experience
  • PMP certification
  • Six Sigma certification
  • Experience working within a US company/organisation

Other requirements
  • Travel requirements: regular travel in UK, occasionally overseas, to attend meetings, training activities and conferences, and to undertake project activities. Valid UK driving licence and passport
  • Clearance requirements: The post-holder must hold and maintain UK Government clearance
