  • This role leads the General Accounting team to ensure the Northrop Grumman general accounting statement of work is followed consistently and provided as a service within NGUKL, including advice to budget-holders.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Accountable for delivery of monthly close activities

  • Lead and develop the General Accounting team, creating and fostering a motivated, high-performing unit

  • Completion of monthly trial balance analysis

  • Balance sheet account reconciliations and forecasts

  • Ensuring all relevant information is provided to support audit requests

  • Preparation of weekly cash disbursements journals

  • Oversee DNBi checks and provide financial analysis for approval of new vendors/customers

  • Ensure all new customers, projects and project contracts are set up on ERP system

  • Accountable for the smooth operation of payroll journal entry and journal entries

  • Recording and clearing of all cash receipts

  • Support the US organisation for the translation of UK ERP data entries to the US ERP system

  • Ensure charges for the MSE financial shared services team are appropriately allocated to other business areas

  • Responsible for leading the continuous review and improvement of General Accounting procedures, and making recommendations for simplification of workflows within the ERP system that underpin the execution of these processes

  • Provide support to the Middle East region with general accounting and related MSD queries as required

  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested, including those normally undertaken by the wider team, as needed

  • General Operational duties
  • Attend Business Management department meetings

  • Support the Business Management Director in developing and growing a professional and engaged team

  • Remain compliant with all applicable Business Management and Command Media Processes and procedures

General Line Management duties

  • Understand and apply all policies, processes and procedures around people management, compliance and governance

  • Travel requirements: Some UK travel may be required to attend team and customer meetings, training activities and conferences. There may be a requirement form time-to-time to travel overseas. Valid UK driving licence and passport.

  • Clearance requirements: The post-holder must hold or be able to obtain and maintain UK Government clearances
