Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

Job Description

Northrop Grumman are currently seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst for a permanent role based in Cheltenham.

The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for ensuring internal company financial reporting is completed accurately and in a timely manner.  This role also supports the General Accounting team in the completion of statutory financial reporting as required.

How you will make a difference
Key Responsibilities
  • Run monthly revenue recognition for support contracts and FFP contracts and supporting both the Business Manager and line manager in determining the appropriate revenue recognition methodology
  • Support to the General Accounting team in reviewing key month end submissions including the final trial balance for upload to SAP
  • Manage profit centres to ensure accurate mapping for multiple and complex P&L reporting
  • Prepare detailed reports to Sector & Divisional stakeholders including debtors and intercompany suspense reconciliation
  • Generate complex quarter-end close submissions to include quarterly questionnaire, related party data and provision IOCs and memos
  • Produce year-end close submissions to include YES schedules for consolidated group accounts and US stock exchange filings
  • Deliver monthly forecasted financial statements (Income Statement and Balance Sheet)
  • Undertake detailed Balance Sheet reviews with the Business Management Director and Sector/Divisions
  • Provide information and additional support as needed to the line manager in producing month-end reports for internal business unit reviews
  • Generate utilisation reporting data for all staff within NSS
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested
General Operations duties
  • Attend Business Management department meetings as required
  • Remain compliant with all applicable Business Management and Command Media Processes and procedures
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications/Experience
  • Qualified UK Accountant ideally with some experience of working with US GAAP in addition to UK GAAP
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Experience of successful collaboration across teams

Other requirements

  • Travel requirements: Some UK travel to attend team/customer meetings and training activities
  • Clearance requirements: The post-holder must hold and maintain UK Government clearances
