Job Description
Are you a Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer with experience in developing in Java? Do you have proven interpersonal skills? Do you want to join an Agile development team with frequent DevOps and UX elements to our work?
 
The Cyber Solutions Division of Northrop Grumman are seeking talented Software Engineers at all levels to join our team, working within a rapidly growing environment. As a software engineer you would be working in an Agile development team that works at all layers of a Java-based technology stack. There are frequently DevOps and UX aspects to our projects. The ability to communicate well within the team and with our customers is beneficial.
 
We are seeking talented Software Engineers from Junior through to Lead levels.

You will be asked to support the team in scrum/agile development, software design, requirements analysis, conducting research & development on new software technologies and supporting the pursuit of new business.

 

Essential criteria:

• Experience in the design, development, testing and integration of quality software
• Experience in Java and the use of object oriented design
• Keen to learn a broad range of technologies on the Java stack

 

Desirable criteria :

• Current UK Government clearance
• Experience of UK Government working practices
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Exposure to DevOps approaches and associated tools e.g. Ansible, Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes
• Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server/CentOS)
• Experience across different languages, such as: Java EE, Python, C++, JavaScript
• Working experience across some of the following technologies: EJB, Spring, JUnit, Maven, Cucumber
• Experience with open source products, e.g. Elasticsearch, AMQP message brokers, Nifi
• Knowledge and experience with cloud services, e.g. AWS

 

For these roles you will be required to hold and maintain full Government Security Clearance
