This role will allow you to be directly responsible for a team with a matrix responsibility for other personnel engaged in on-aircraft product Audit.  You will be a senior member of the Northrop Grumman leadership team and you will have the skills, character and experience to operate at that level.

Northrop Grumman is responsible for the delivery of depth maintenance, support to forward maintenance on the operating Squadron alongside the provision of associated services including Design Organisation, Technical Publications and Software Support for the UK Sentry E3D (AWACS) Aircraft Programme. 

Elements of the Contract are exercised through Subcontractors, who hold variously Depth and Component maintenance Part 145 responsibility. 

The Mission Assurance team is responsible for assuring quality procedures, processes and standards for the scope of the Contract and for conducting associated trend analysis and corrective actions.

How you will make a difference
As Mission Assurance Manager you will chair the Preventive and Corrective Action Board; the principle mechanism for the governance of the Contract.  In addition, you will chair the Occurrence Review Group; a pan enterprise forum that seeks to sentence Aviation Safety, Product, Process and Contract corrective actions. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Satisfy Northrop Grumman Sector and Sentry Programme Quality Assurance and Compliance Requirements
  • Manage and monitor the implementation and development of the Sentry QMS in response to legislative and governance amendment to ensure compliance requirements are satisfied
  • Manage and regularly review and develop audit schedules and content to better identify opportunities to improve process, product quality and production support requirements
  • Manage and review Audit observations and manage trend analysis activity to identify risk and develop improvement initiatives to drive down re-work activity and waste
  • Manage and ensure the audit report findings are effectively controlled, thoroughly investigated and closed within required timelines with appropriate containment and process change to prevent re-occurrence
  • Convene regular quality assurance reviews with customer and sub-contractors to share experiences, identify failure trends and develop improvement strategies
  • Manage lead auditors, team leaders and subject matter experts when conducting internal, external and supplier audits, manage and assist with identifying opportunities to improve quality and continual improvement awareness
  • Manage the review all QOR and SCAR reports and participate when necessary in the root cause analysis investigation and provide assistance in developing improvement strategy
  • Manage and monitor supplier / sub-contractor QMS performance, fitness for purpose and undertake risk analysis
  • Undertake reviews of all contract amendments and determine programme and sub-contractor risk and opportunity
  • Manage the monitoring sub-contractor assurance processes and ensure that legislative and compliance requirements are satisfied
  • Track and monitor concession and technical resolution tool requests to ensure sub-contractor contractual obligations are not compromised.
  • Manage and support the Support Services, SHEF Manager
  • Manage, mentor & coach the Quality team
  • Produce and develop ad hoc presentations as required/requested to meet high priority business needs.

Key criteria required...

1. Lead Auditor Qualified or Quality Management experience.

2. Risk management experience

3. Knowledge of ISO9001

4. Knowledge and experience of Quality processes and procedures in an Aviation environment

5. Experience leading and managing a team

6.  Strong organisational, communication and management skills

7.  IT literate (MS Office)

Also, we’d love it if you have...

1. Highly desirable - on-aircraft experience.

2. Highly desirable - Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis or other similar techniques

3. Desirable - Military aviation experience (on or off-aircraft)

4. Beneficial - MAOS (Part 145) and DAOS experience.
