This is a permanent opportunity working on our Sentry AWACS Programme. You will be part of a team of professionals dedicated to the Sentry Aircraft.

The E-3D United Kingdom Airborne Warning and Control System (UK AWACS) Sentry Fleet provides a crucial defense capability to the United Kingdom and its allies.

Equipped with a Northrop Grumman APY-2 radar, Sentry provides the complete air defense picture and the capability to direct interdiction of both air and sea targets.

How you will make a difference

This role will offer you the opportunity to support the Fwd Maintenance and Engineering staff in optimizing the aircraft serviceability and mission capability to meet availability targets. Providing:

    • Specialist Systems advice in fault diagnosis activities
    • Advice on options to return aircraft to serviceability and optimal mission capability
    • Expediting the links/dependencies to other stakeholders such as Stn and industry engineering and logistics support organizations
    • In conjunction with Forward operational Squadron leadership act as a mentor to Sqn maintenance personnel

You will also maintain a detailed understanding of aircraft condition in preparation for scheduled maintenance activities, particularly during the pre-input planning phase.  Including but not exclusively:

  • Status of aircraft limitations, acceptable deferred faults and husbandry log entries.
  • Status of spares demands
  • Support to Industry planning teams in generating scheduled maintenance event statements of work
  • Provision of aircraft condition surveys

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Review the completeness and accuracy of the Approved Data, including the Aircraft Documentation Set (ADS), generating F765/F765X Unsatisfactory Feature Report as appropriate
  • Identify and report to the industry team on any potential maintainability and supportability improvements
  • Expedite any technical queries raised at Fwd with the Technical Resolution Team, liaising directly with the Design Organisation (DO) Field Service Representatives and Engineering Authority

Key Criteria Required...
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of the Sentry E-3D Mechanical Systems
  • Proven track record of achievement in a maintenance support role in the Fwd maintenance domain
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Develop and manage positive Stakeholder relationships in a complex challenging environment
  • Champions continual improvement
  • Applicants must be able to hold and maintain UK Government clearances
  • To have flexibility with working hours
We would also love it if you have...
  • Experience of a maintenance support role in the Depth domain
  • Experience of a technical support role in an Engineering Authority environment
  • Working knowledge of Logistics Information Technology Strategy(LITS)
