How you will make a difference

You will have the opportunity to provide holistic Sentry Platform Aviation Safety Support in the execution of the Sentry Whole Life Support Programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring that safety management is carried out to satisfy the requirements of Def Stan 00-56.
  • Working on the MAAMRP (Military Airworthiness Authority Military Regulatory Publication industry standard
  • Responsible for acting as the dedicated point of contact between the Programme and the Customer to implement and ensure appropriate interface with the Authority’s Safety Management System (SMS) as detailed within the customer’s Safety and Environmental Management Plan (SEMP).
  • Responsible to the Technical Services Manager for maintaining the Programme Airworthiness, Safety & Environmental Policy.
  • Responsible for the promotion of a positive aviation safety culture programme wide.
  • Responsible for developing a reporting culture and the investigation of all FS occurrences, subsequent understanding of the cause(s) and contributory factors, and the promulgation and implementation of lessons identified.
  • Provide input to the development of strategies and project plans for modifications.
  • Provide input to Through-Life Safety Cases & Safety Management Systems for modification programmes to ensure their compliance with Airworthiness, Safety & Environmental strategies.
  • Provide input to programme Safety Cases, Hazard Logs, and AWS documentation in accordance with the MRP.
  • Responsible for ensuring that subcontractor SMS interface with the Programme SMS. 
  • Provide input to new programme Hazard Logs and attend Hazard Log Reviews and Project Safety Panels.

 

Key criteria required...

•          ASIMS Experience.

•          Aviation Safety experience.

Also, we’d love it if you have...

Demonstrable airworthiness and safety management experience, implementing best practices and procedures to enhance performance and air vehicle availability.

•          Proven track record of achievement in an aviation safety role as well as experience of SMS process.

•          Experience of the Sentry aircraft and familiarity with UK MAA regulatory requirements.

•          Ability to link air and ground safety environments to deliver a holistic view of risk.

•          Possesses sound communication skills and ability to encourage teams to accept and drive change.

•          Can develop and manage positive relationships in a challenging matrixed environment.

•          Makes solid and consistent Engineering and quality assurance recommendations.

•          Is ISO9001:2015 aware and is a champion of continual Improvement.

•          Encourages and develops others to generate and capitalize on opportunities for improvement.
