Project Cost Analyst - (Contract)

Job Description

As an organisation, we demand constant innovation, and have an immediate opportunity for a contract Project Cost Analyst to support our CUTLASS team in Coventry.

You will ideally have had previous experience with Project Work and have has exposure to managing financial and budgetary project elements.

How you will make a difference

You will be providing support to all project activity in cost monitoring, planning and project status reporting, keeping control of the projects budget and liaising closely with the Project team.

Key Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities:

  • To adhere to the terms and conditions laid down in the employee contract or subsequent variations to contract, Staff Handbook and the Health and Safety Policy
  • To follow, and where appropriate improve, the Quality process laid down in the Quality System Manuals
  • To adhere to the Company Security Instructions
  • Undertake any other reasonable task as requested


  • Creation of projects, updating and reporting in the ERP system
  • Maintain project-related records including Work Breakdown Structures
  • Review timesheets, expenses and costs for work related to a project
  • Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
  • Preparation of project financial forecasts and progress reports
  • Create or approve all project-related billings to customers
  • Close out project accounts upon project completion
  • Load and track sales orders
  • Project planning (using MS project) and tracking of KPI’s
  • Support Project reviews and create reporting metrics
Budgeting, Costing and Pricing
  • Assist departmental managers with monitoring of budgets
  • Assist with calculation of cost rates and business modelling
  • Preparation of pricing material for customer proposals

Key criteria required...

  • Time and Expense management including some processing
    • Systems/process Improvement
    • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft packages
    • Excellent communication skills

Experience in MS Dynamics or other ERP systems
